Mabon Lore
Mabon (pronounced MAY_bun, or MAY-boon) is also the Autumn Equinox. This is the day when the dark and the light are equals, and we all need to take a moment to step back and pay our respect to the dark. This is also a time to give thanks to the waning light for a bountiful harvest. Wiccans celebrate this time as the Goddess moves from Mother to Crone, and the God as he prepares for death and rebirth.
At this festival its appropriate to wear your finest, and dine in a lavish setting. It is the drawing to and end of the year, and a time to finish old business . Also it is a time to prepare for a time of relaxation , reflection, and most importantly...rest.
