Litha Lore
Also known as Lithia in the Saxon tradition, or the opposite of Yule. This is the longest day of the year, light and life are all around us. The Christian religion converted this, the day of Jack -in-the-Green to the Feast of St John the Baptist, often placing him in rustic clothing, sometimes even with horns and cloven feet (like the Demi-God Pan).
The Faerie faith also holds this night special. It is often called Midsummers Nights Eve.
